Heritage Mei Ho House is Hong Kong's only surviving first-generation "H-block" resettlement building, a Grade II historic monument in Sham Shui Po now revitalised into a youth hostel with a free heritage exhibition. Families can walk through 1:1 recreated 1950s-70s public housing scenes, a communal kitchen and grocery store, learn about the Shek Kip Mei fire and Hong Kong's public housing history, then relax at the retro-style cafe or hike nearby Beacon Hill.
