Robin's Nest Country Park

Robin's Nest Heliport - P27, Sha Tau Kok

Robin's Nest Country Park, established on March 1, 2024, is Hong Kong's 25th country park. Located at Sha Tau Kok in the remote northeastern New Territories and spanning 530 hectares, its mountain ridge connects with Wutong Mountain National Forest Park in Shenzhen, forming a vital ecological corridor between the two cities. Ecological Highlights: The park boasts rich biodiversity with natural habitats like secondary woodlands, shrublands, and upland grasslands. It serves as a sanctuary for rare flora and fauna, including the Chinese Lily and various protected bird and bat species. Cultural & Historical Heritage: The park is home to significant historical relics, notably the Lin Ma Hang Lead Mine (now a vital bat colony and a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and the MacIntosh Forts (such as the one at Ah Kung Kok) built in the early 1950s as border observation posts. Hiking Trails: The AFCD has developed two main routes: the Robin's Nest Country Trail (starting from Shan Tsui with WWII military trenches and pillboxes along the way) and the Lin Ma Hang Country Trail (connecting Lin Ma Hang Village and the historic mining area).
