Tai Mo Shan Country Park

Tai Mo Shan Country Park, established in 1979, covers 1,440 hectares of natural territory surrounding Tai Mo Shan—an extinct volcano and Hong Kong's highest peak standing at 957 meters. Climate & Views: Due to its elevation, the park enjoys a noticeably cooler climate and is often shrouded in mist. It is Hong Kong's premier location for watching sunrises, seas of clouds, and stargazing. In autumn, the silvergrass blanketed across the summit creates a spectacular seasonal view. Hiking & Recreation: Section 8 of the iconic MacLehose Trail runs through the park, and hikers can easily walk up Tai Mo Shan Road to the lookout for sweeping panoramic views of the territory. The park also features Rotary Park (home to campsites, barbecue areas, and cherry blossom trees) and the Tai Mo Shan Country Park Visitor Centre. Opening Hours: The country park area is open 24 hours daily with free admission.
