
Tai Tam Country Park, established in 1977, covers a vast area of 1,315 hectares in the southeastern part of Hong Kong Island. Sprawling from Jardine's Lookout in the north down to Stanley Gap in the south, it is the largest natural green haven on the island. Heritage & Historic Monuments: The park is famous for the Tai Tam Reservoirs (comprising the Upper, Byewash, Intermediate, and Tai Tam Tuk Reservoirs). It features 21 declared historic monuments, including century-old stone bridges, dams, and valve houses, showcasing magnificent British masonry work. Hiking & Nature Trails: It is a premier hiking destination traversed by Sections 5 to 7 of the Hong Kong Trail and Sections 1 and 2 of the Wilson Trail. The Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail and the flat, easy Tai Tam Family Walk are exceptionally popular for family outings and landscape photography. Facilities & Access: Offering numerous barbecue and picnic areas alongside the Tai Tam Scout Centre, the park is open 24 hours daily with free admission.
