Tai Tam Country Park (Quarry Bay Extension), established in 1979, covers approximately 270 hectares on the northern slopes of Mount Parker in the eastern part of Hong Kong Island, serving as a highly accessible urban green oasis. Wartime History: The park's most iconic heritage feature is the World War II wartime communal stoves. Built in the late 1930s as part of the government's air-raid emergency and food supply preparation, these preserved relics offer immense historical and educational value. Hiking & Leisure: It serves as a major trail hub featuring the Hong Pak Country Trail, the Quarry Bay Jogging Trail, and Sir Cecil's Ride, while seamlessly connecting to the Hong Kong Trail and Mount Parker Road Nature Trail. The Quarry Bay Reservoir Garden at its base is a favorite spot for morning walkers. Facilities & Access: Equipped with multiple barbecue sites, picnic areas, and viewing pavilions, the park is open 24 hours daily with free admission and is completely dog-friendly.
