The Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail, established in 2009 inside Tai Tam Country Park, is a 5-kilometer scenic route that seamlessly blends stunning natural landscapes with century-old engineering marvels. Historic Monuments: The trail links 21 declared monuments within the Tai Tam Reservoirs scheme. Built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these structures include magnificent British-style stone masonry arched bridges, massive dams, valve houses, and historic pumping stations. Easy & Accessible: Comprising mostly flat, paved roads with very gentle slopes, the trail is exceptionally beginner-friendly and perfect for families or elderly strollers. It is also one of Hong Kong's top spots for landscape and wedding photography. Access: Hikers usually begin from the South Gate on Tai Tam Road (near the Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir Dam bus stop) or walk in reverse from the North Gate near Parkview. The trail is open 24 hours daily with free admission.
